John-Paul Blandthorn

Director

National

John-Paul Blandthorn (JP) is one of Australia’s most highly respected government relations, industrial relations, and campaigning professionals in Australia over the past twenty years.

JP held senior positions within the private office of the Premier of Victoria and for the Federal Leader of the Opposition prior to starting with Hall Chadwick. In this role he worked closely with the central and ancillary departments to develop briefs for the Victorian Cabinet; providing a rare and valuable insight into identifying relevant government targets within a decision-making process at a particular point of time.

JP continues to advise both for profit and not-for-profit firms on how best to advocate and/or navigate their issues with all three tiers of governments for the past eight years – having worked on some of the most complicated issues facing governments and business.

Additionally, JP is well regarded in the sporting industry where he has been a Director of the Australian Netball Players’ Association, Victorian Jockeys’ Association, and an adviser to both the AFL Players’ Association and Australian Cricketers’ Association.

At Hall Chadwick JP works with clients and other Partners to navigate complex interactions with governments and help them better understand the decision-making process. In doing this JP helps them understand the priorities of governments and what they are looking for to better help the decision-making process.
